NEW Hammerhead Pups Pre-Team-
Suits and team apparel:
We are changing things up just a bit this season... Due to the many teams with blue suits, the Hammerheads are going RED! (our old suits have been discontinued so now is a good time to make the change). Note: You do not have to change suits if last years suit still fits!
Our Hood Hammerhead team suits are available to purchase from
Pools, Patios and Porches. 2 Wormans Mill Ct, Frederick MD 21701 www.poolspatiosandporches.com
The Hammerhead Swim Team is run by many volunteers. In order to make it a fun and successful season, we require that each family volunteer for at least three meets during the season. Volunteer duties include, but are not limited to: Timing, Stroke & Turn judging, Clerk of course (getting kids to the seating area), concessions, ribbons and set up and tear down of tents and pool deck area. There will be sign up sheets available at the pool during registration, at practices and meets.
Stroke and Turn Training:
If you are interested, and we really need your help, you can volunteer as a Stroke & Turn
official or starter. It is mandatory you attend one, two hour clinic to be able to officiate a meet.
**We will announce the schedule as soon as its finalized**
In addition to these 6 training sessions above, there will be 2 refresher only training sessions offered. These are only for officials with 2+ years FSSL experience or year-round officials.
Additional 1/2 hour mandatory Starter/Referee training following each session for those who may work in those capacities.
Note: Swimmers need to attend at least 2 regular meets to qualify their meet attendance requirement to swim at the divisional meet. Swimmers whose times qualify them for All Stars must also meet the requirement of attending 2 regular meets to be able to swim in All Stars.
We as coaches, ask that all swimmers be able to swim a length of the pool unassisted
before joining the team. If you have a little one who can’t quite make it yet, we suggest
our Hammerhead Pups Pre-team.
