FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College athletic department held its year-end senior awards ceremony and inducted its 2018 Chi Alpha Sigma Class.
A video of favorite senior student-athlete memories was played before the major of awards of the evening were presented.
Eight outstanding senior student-athletes were then presented with departmental honors in four categories, including the Kim Servedio Award, the Dean's Award, the President's Award and the Outstanding Student-Athlete Award. Winners of the White Blazer Award, presented at Honors Convocation were also recognized.
Prior to the award presentations, Hood inducted the 2018 class of Chi Alpha Sigma. Inductees must maintain at least a 3.4 cumulative grade-point average as a junior or senior and have earned a varsity letter in their sport. A listing of the inductees can be found at the bottom of the page.

Kim Servedio Award
This award is given in honor of a former women's soccer player and honor student, Kim Servedio, who passed away tragically in 1998. The award is given to a current male and female student-athlete who best embodies Kimmy's characteristics of sincerity, selflessness, and optimism.
The female recipient is Sophia Leaman, a four-year member of the softball program.
The male recipient was Kyle Bulgarelli, a four-year member of both the men's soccer and track and field programs.
This award is given to a current male and female student-athlete who has shown an unparalleled commitment to the student body through involvement in extra-curricular activities and has demonstrated outstanding service to the Hood College athletic department.
The female recipient is Kelsey Ritner, a four-year member of the volleyball program and two-year member of the softball program.
The male recipient is Andrew Catone, a four-year member of the baseball program.
This award is given to a current male and female student-athlete who has distinguished him/herself throughout their Hood College careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletic excellence, service, and leadership.
The female recipient is Kayli Paugh, a four-year member of the softball program.
The male recipient is Kyle Bulgarelli, a four-year member of the men's soccer and track and field program.
Most Outstanding Athlete
This award is given to a current male and female student-athlete who has demonstrated exemplary athletic prowess throughout their careers at Hood College.
The female recipient is Kristy Erfurdt, a four-year member of the softball program.
The male recipient is Cam Esposito, a four-year member of the baseball program.
