Michael Riley of the men’s basketball team and Danielle Pong from women’s swimming are the Hood College Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 13.
In a win over Lycoming, Riley went 8 of 16 from behind the arc in the game, the most 3-pointers in a contest for a Hood player since Ryan Junghans hit a school-record nine in January 2008. The junior posted his second straight double-double with 11 rebounds. Earlier in the week, he had a 10 rebounds and scored 12 points in the victory against Albright.
Pong recorded a pair of victories with wins in the 100 and 200-yard freestyle in a win over Immaculata. She won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.84 and swam a time of 2:07.73 to win the 200-yard freestyle.
