Spandler, Geiger Participate at IHSA Regionals
FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--Two members of the Hood College equestrian club team, Augusta Spandler and Katie Geiger, participated at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) regional competition Sunday at the University of Mary Washington.
Both Spandler and Geiger rode well in their respective divisions. Spandler pointed up from novice on the flat and competed in that division at regionals. The class of 13 competitors was split and Spandler was one of the riders selected for a call back; however, she did not place in the top two, which would have meant an automatic qualification for the IHSA Zones.
Geiger also had a very good round in the novice over fences division, but she too failed to place in the top two.
Both riders will represent Hood at the American National Riding Commission (ANRC) nationals in two weeks.
