Herman Qualifies for Regionals

ALDIE, Va. - The equestrian team competed in a double-show on Saturday, November 4th and Sunday, November 5th at River Chase Farm. The show was hosted by George Mason University and George Washington University.

Five members of the competition team showed in their respective classes. Junior, Claire Herman qualified for Regionals on Saturday and pointed out of Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter. She competed in her first Novice Flat class on Sunday.

On Saturday, Senior Taylor Polito placed third in Intermediate Over Fences on Cooler and brought home first place and won her Intermediate Flat Class on Hinkley.

Junior Susannah Noppenberger won fourth place in her Novice Over Fences class on Allie and came in sixth place on the flat riding Harley.

Junior Claire Herman won second place in her final Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter division on Gizmo. She placed out of Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter and qualified for Regionals.

Freshman Victoria Phelan-Graham placed fourth in the Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter class on Lincoln.

Freshman Hannah Pause placed fourth in Walk/Trot class riding Diamond.

On Sunday, four members of the team competed. Claire Herman made her debut in the Novice division on Jude and brought home a third place ribbon.

Senior Taylor Polito placed third in Intermediate Over Fences on Allie and brought home third place and won her Intermediate Flat Class on Greta.

Freshman Victoria Phelan-Graham placed third in the Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter class riding Joey.

Freshman Hannah Pause placed third in the Walk/Trot class on Gizmo.

The Hood College Equestrian Team will compete in their last show of the fall season on Sunday, November 19 and will be hosted by the University of Maryland at The Other Left Farm, Oatlands Stables in Gaithersburg, Md.
