Anita Bartgis '80 stepped into the equestrian club head coaching role in the fall of 2011. She served as a volunteer assistant coach for more than five years.
She assists with instruction, attends team meetings, handles recruiting and helps organize team trips to competitions. Bartgis began riding in the Hood program during her undergraduate years.
After a 20-year hiatus to raise a family, Bartgis returned to NFSE where she began lessons with Kay Russell and Karen Fenwick. In the past nine years, Bartgis has helped school horses, competed successfully in horse shows and ridden in clinics with Paul Cronin, Patte Zumbrun and Leslie Brill.
In June 2010, Bartgis earned an ANRC Level No. 1 Rider’s Rating.
