Seton Hill Tops Field Hockey, 4-0

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College field hockey team (1-4) dropped
a 4-0 decision to Division II Seton Hill College (5-2) Thursday
afternoon at Thomas Athletic Field.
The Griffin defense was relentless all afternoon and prevented the
Blazers from getting off a shot on their offensive end.
Seton Hill scored on their first possession of the contest when
Breanna Wong set up Krista Archambeau just 50 seconds into the
game. Holly Thomas made it 2-0 with an unassisted score at 20:53.
Archambeau notched her second goal of the day, an unassisted score,
midway through the second half. Wong collected her second assist of
the game when she set up Natasha Pedzik in the 67th minute for the
final margin.
Hood goalie Ashley Saylor made six saves in the cage and came up
with a huge rejection on a penalty stroke by SHU's Holly Thomas at
the 43:23 mark of the second half. Thomas fired her shot to
Saylor's stick side and the junior from Eldersburg, Md., punched it
away to deny Thomas.
Freshman Anne Marie Hantman spelled Saylor in the final 16 minutes
of the contest and turned away three Griffin shots.
Hood returns to action Monday hosting former Atlantic Women's
Colleges Conference rival Wilson College at 4 p.m. at Thomas
Athletic Field.
