No. 3 Salisbury Downs Hood, 11-0

SALISBURY, Md.--Freshman Anne Marie Hantman earned her first start in the cage Tuesday against the third-ranked team in NCAA Division III, the Salisbury University Sea Gulls (12-1, 4-0 CAC) and put forth a valiant effort against a squad that leads the Capital Athletic Conference in virtually every statistical category. The native of Queenstown, Md., faced a total of 58 shots and saved a career-high 23 attempts in an 11-0 loss. Hood falls to 3-7 overall and 0-4 in the CAC.
The Blazer defense held the high-powered Sea Gull offense to just two first half goals as Hantman collected 12 of her saves in the first 35 minutes. But in the second half, Salisbury reeled off nine scores, including three on penalty strokes.
Sophomore Sarah Balukoff made five defensive saves and freshman Jen Krietz was credited with one defensive save for the Blazers.
Hood looks to snap its three-game losing skid Thursday at the University of Mary Washington. Game-time for the CAC contest is slated for 4 p.m.
