Field Hockey Falls at Mary Washington, 5-0

FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--The Hood College field hockey team (3-8, 0-5 CAC) dropped a 5-0 decision to the University of Mary Washington Eagles (7-7, 2-3 CAC) Thursday in a Capital Athletic Conference contest.

The Eagles reeled off 28 shots on the day but junior Ashley Saylor collected a season-high 19 saves in a gutsy effort in the cage. The Blazers were unable to register a shot on goal on the afternoon. UMW goalies Chrissy Bowdren and Lindsey Unterbrink each played one half in the cage to combine for the shutout.

Hood returns home Sunday to host Shenandoah University on Senior Day at 1 p.m. The Blazers will honor seniors Lauren Lieb and Christa Lundskow before the game.
