Field Hockey Drops 5-0 Decision to St. Mary's in CAC Quarters

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.--The seventh-seeded Hood College field hockey team (3-12) fell to the second-seeded St. Mary's College (Md.) Seahawks (11-4) 5-0 Sunday in the quarterfinal round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.
Junior goalie Ashley Saylor made 14 stops in defeat, as the Blazers were outshot 38-5 in the contest. Sophomore Jen Graham collected three shots while senior Christa Lundskow notched a pair. Sophomore Sarah Balukoff was credited with three defensive saves and freshman Patsy Davis tallied one in the losing cause.
Five different players scored for St. Mary's, who netted three goals in the first half and two in the second. Emily Richards and Emma Lauhoff combined on the shutout and made three saves.
Hood graduates just two seniors from its roster in Lauren Lieb and Christa Lundskow.
