York Tops Field Hockey, 5-0

YORK, Pa.--The Hood College field hockey team (0-2, 0-1 CAC) lost its Capital Athletic Conference opener to the York College (Pa.) Spartans (2-1, 1-0 CAC) by a count of 5-0 Tuesday afternoon.
The Spartan defense held the Blazer attack without a shot attempt on the afternoon. Senior netminder Jen Lacy faced 40 shot attempts for Hood, including 21 on goal, and rejected 16 of them. York's Casey Lawrence got the Spartans on the board in the first minute of the contest and Megan Lawrence collected York's other four scores for the final margin.
Hood hosts its first home game of the fall Saturday entertaining the College of Notre Dame (Md.) at 1 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field.
