Barrick's Late Goal Lifts Field Hockey to Victory

FREDERICK, Md. - With less than six minutes to play, Jayden Barrick sent a ball off the back of the cage to give Hood College a 1-0 win over visiting Cedar Crest.

  • In addition to Barrick's goal, Allison Mori had a defensive save. 
  • Hailey Poisal made seven saves to pick up her third shutout of the season. 

Match Recap

  • Briefly playing down two players due to injuries and a green card in the 65th minute, Barrick weaved through the Falcon defense inside the circled and sent a lunging strike into the goal to break a scoreless tie. It was her third goal of the season. 
  • One of Cedar Crest's best chances came in the 13th minute. Rachel Bechtel sent the ball toward the far post and Mori knocked it away to preserve the scoreless tie. 

Notes

  • Hood improved to 3-7 on the season, with all three wins coming via shutout. 
  • Cedar Crest fell to 4-5.
  • Emma Ryan had one save for the Falcons.
