Dickman Adds North Carroll Standout to Roster

FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College head men's basketball coach Tom Dickman announced the addition of guard Garrett Williams of North Carroll High School to his 2008-09 roster.

Williams was an all-county and all-Chesapeake first team selection for the Panthers who averaged 14.5 points and 3.7 assists per game last season. He listed fourth in the Chesapeake Conference in three-pointers made with 42 and ranked among the conference leaders in free throw percentage, field goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage. Also an outstanding student, Williams was a four-year member of the honor roll and earned the Gold Bar Award for academic excellence.

"Garrett gives us an athletic guard who can make plays," said Dickman. "He has excellent penetrating ability along with solid three-point range. We feel that he will give us immediate help in the backcourt."

Hood finished the 2007-08 season with a record of 15-11 and ranked third in the Capital Athletic Conference. The Blazers return 11 letterwinners from that squad, nine of whom earned a spot in the starting lineup at some point during the season.
