Herb Bowen Joins Hood Basketball Family

FREDERICK, Md.--Episcopal High School product Herb Bowen is Tom Dickman's third addition to the Hood College men's basketball roster for the upcoming 2008-09 season.

Bowen, a 6-8, 215-lb., forward from King of Prussia, Pa., averaged 14 points and eight rebounds at Episcopal for coach Dan Dougherty and earned all-league plaudits during his tenure. An honor roll student and national merit applicant, Bowen was honored with the Congressional Black Caucus Award as well.

"We feel that Herb can be a difference-maker in our league," said Dickman. "He brings athleticism along with a great work ethic. Our coaching staff is very excited about working with Herb."

Other newcomers to the Blazer roster include guard Garrett Williams of North Carroll High School and forward Chris Leggett of Century High School.
