Brady's 24 Powers Blazers to 96-79 Win over Penn State-Hazelton

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.--Junior J'Air Brady shot 10-of-12 from the floor for a career-high 24 points to lift the Hood College men's basketball team (1-1) to a 96-79 victory over the Penn State University-Hazelton Nittany Lions (0-2) Sunday afternoon in the consolation game of the Lycoming College Tip-Off Tournament.
All five Blazer starters reached double figures in the triumph. Hood made seven of its first 10 field goal attempts and never trailed en route to its first victory of the season. Hood led by as many as 22 midway through the second half and shot 59.3 percent from the field on the afternoon.
Brady represented Hood on the six-man all-tournament team. Seniors Jeff Willison and Ryan Junghans totaled 16 points apiece while Tim Abercrombie finished with 14, including 7-of-8 from the foul line, and dished out five assists. Freshman Brenden Straughn registered 12 points including a pair of three-pointers.
Brett Ednie paced the Nittany Lions with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Hood returns to action Saturday when it takes on New Jersey City University at the Rinso Marquette Tournament hosted by Lebanon Valley College. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
