Sacred Heart Leading Scorer, Rebounder Ryan Hutchings Selects Hood
FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College head men's basketball coach Tom Dickman has announced the addition of 6-0 guard Ryan Hutchings from Sacred Heart High School to his 2010-11 basketball roster.
"We are very pleased that Ryan has decided to attend Hood," said Dickman. "He has very good basketball skills and we feel that his best basketball is still ahead of him. As he continues to mature physically, he has the potential to become a very good college player."
A native of Deerfield Township, N.J., Hutchings led the Sacred Heart Lions in both scoring (16.8 ppg) and rebounding (5.2 rpg) during his senior year. He also contributed 3.2 assists and 1.2 steals per outing. A two-time team captain, Hutchings was named to a pair of all-star teams by the Daily Journal and the Evening News. He also copped honorable mention honors in the Cape Atlantic League and participated in the CAL all-star game.
Hutchings joins guards Derek Szabados (Catoctin), Justin Bowens (Tuscarora) and De'Ante Cannon (DuVal) along with forwards Cameron Cook (Calvert Hall) and Zach Lynch (Arundel) as part of Dickman's recruiting class for the upcoming season.
