Dickman Announces Seventh Recruit for 2010-11

FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College head men's basketball coach Tom Dickman has added a seventh recruit to his 2010-11 class in 5-10 guard Ricky Johnson of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School in Baltimore.

"Ricky is a talented athlete who can play either guard position," said Dickman. "His quickness and strength will serve him well at the college level. He played in an excellent high school program and we're anticipating continued success for him in the classroom and on the basketball court."

Johnson averaged 10.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 6.3 assists for the Cougars last season. Head coach Tom Rose tabbed Johnson as the team's most improved player and best defensive player. Johnson was also an honor roll selection at Mt. Carmel.

Johnson joins guards Ryan Hutchings (Sacred Heart), Derek Szabados (Catoctin), Justin Bowens (Tuscarora) and De'Ante Cannon (DuVal) along with forwards Cameron Cook (Calvert Hall) and Zach Lynch (Arundel) as part of Dickman's recruiting class for the upcoming season.
