Oconis Nets Hat Trick in Loss to McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md.--Junior Will Oconis scored three goals and assisted on a fourth but the Hood College men's lacrosse team fell to host McDaniel College, 24-5, Wednesday in a non-conference game.

The Blazers drop to 0-12 while the Green Terror improve to 5-3.

Jason Anderson got the Blazers on the board at the 4:46 mark of the second quarter when he netted his sixth man-advantage goal of the season. Oconis then registered the first of his three scores midway through the third quarter. Freshman Sofiane Lazar recorded Hood's final tally of the day at the 7:19 mark of the fourth quarter.

Sam Hofmann, the Capital Athletic Conference leader in saves, stopped 22 shots for Hood.

The Blazers return home to Thomas Athletic Field for the first time since March 9 Friday against Shenandoah University. Face-off is slated for 1 p.m.
