Spartans Top Blazers, 19-4

FREDERICK, Md.--Junior Will Oconis netted his second hat trick in as many weeks but the Hood College men's lacrosse fell to the visiting York College Spartans, 19-4, in a Capital Athletic Conference game at Thomas Athletic Field.

Hood slips to 0-14, 0-7 in the league, while the Spartans improve to 4-6, 3-3 CAC.

The Blazers got off to a great start as Blake Rust assisted on Oconis' first score less than two minutes into the contest.

Jeff Balinsky and Sofiane Lazar hooked up for a goal at the 9:37 mark of the second quarter to snap a string of six straight Spartan tallies.

Oconis registered unassisted tallies in the third and fourth quarters to round out the scoring for Hood.

Sam Hofmann turned away 19 shots for the Blazers in the losing cause.

Hood's regular season finale is slated for Saturday at CAC foe Villa Julie College at 2:30 p.m.
