Dummann Adds Two to Coaching Staff

FREDERICK, Md.--Hood College men's lacrosse head coach Eric Dummann has announced the addition of two more assistant coaches to his staff for the upcoming season. Alan Rudnick and Kevin Parker will patrol the sidelines with Dummann this spring.

A former alumni and assistant men’s lacrosse coach at Eastern University in St. Davis, Pennsylvania, Rudnick joins the Hood lacrosse family as the Blazers prepare for their fourth season of intercollegiate competition.

Rudnick was a two-time team MVP and two-time all conference selection as a goalie at Eastern University. While at Eastern University, Rudnick ranked as high as fifth in the nation in save percentage (.660).

Rudnick obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern University in 2003 and also received his Master of Divinity Degree from Palmer Theological Seminary in 2006. After college Rudnick played in both the American Lacrosse League and the Tri-State indoor league. Most recently, Rudnick was an assistant lacrosse coach at Eastern University.

Rudnick, who is an ordained minister, currently serves as an associate pastor at Damascus United Methodist Church in Damascus, Md.

Originally from Potomac, Md., Parker was a former lacrosse standout at Good Counsel High School and Mount Saint Mary’s University. He spent six years as an assistant at Good Counsel before moving to Hamburg, Germany, to coach the HTHC Hamburg Warriors for three years. Parker guided the Hamburg squad to the title game of the German championships against Berlin.
Parker will also serve as the Danish National team coach for the upcoming 2008 European championships in Finland.

Dummann and the Blazers open up the 2008 campaign Tuesday, Feb. 19, hosting Capital Athletic Conference rival St. Mary’s College (Md.) at Thomas Athletic Field at 3:30 p.m.
