Blazers Fall at Eastern, 13-2
ST. DAVIDS, Pa.—The Hood College men's lacrosse team (1-3) was beaten on the road by Eastern University (3-0) 13-2 Saturday afternoon.
Senior midfielder Alex Engler grabbed a goal in the third period for his first score on the season. Freshman Zachary Speights also scored a goal in the third period for the second goal of his young career.
Sophomore midfielder Randolph Clark led the squad in ground balls with seven and was 5-10 on his faceoff attempts. Clark also had two caused turnovers, as did teammates Adam Patterson and George Gambrell.
Junior goalkeeper John Martin took the loss, although he made seven saves on 24 shots in the first half. Martin was replaced by sophomore Joseph McCulloh at halftime with McCulloh ending the game with nine saves to his name.
Grant Ferguson notched five goals for the Eagles while Chris Farrar added three goals and four assists for the hosts.
The Blazers will again hit the road this Tuesday for a night game at Susquehanna University. The game is set to start at 7 p.m.
