Jason Griffith |
Assistant Coach jcg11@hood.edu |
A 2007 graduate of The Ohio State University, Jason Griffith joined the Hood lacrosse staff as a graduate assistant for the 2010 season.
Griffith was a four-year lacrosse letterwinner at Western
Reserve Academy in his hometown of Hudson, Ohio. He earned
first-team all-Cleveland honors and was named all-Ohio, all-MSLCA
and to the Ohio North All-Star team as a junior and a senior.
Upon graduation from Western Reserve Academy in 2003, Griffith
enrolled at the University of Delaware. After suffering an injury
in the fall, Griffith started in goal for the Blue Hen club team.
The Blue Hens were undefeated (9-0) with Griffith between the
pipes. He owned a stingy 6.30 goals-against average and boasted a
.791 save percentage. Griffith recovered from his injury and made
the varsity squad as a sophomore, but prior to the start of the
2005 season, made the decision to transfer to a school closer to
home.
Griffith joined the Ohio State club team as a player/coach and
helped develop the Buckeyes into one of the most respected clubs in
the National College Lacrosse League (NCLL). He graduated with a
bachelor of science degree in behavioral science.
Griffith brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Blazer
sidelines as well. Following graduation from Ohio State, he and a
friend founded the Black Seal/Pond Hoppers Lacrosse Club, comprised
of current and former lacrosse players from all three NCAA
divisions who have mid-western roots. Griffith also coached at the
Warrior Lacrosse Camp in Cleveland and the All-Star Lacrosse Camp
in Hudson, Ohio. He also served as head coach for the Rockwood
Summit High School lacrosse team and worked with the goalies and
defensemen at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., in 2008.
He returned to Western Reserve Academy as an assistant and helped
the Pioneers win the Midwest Scholastic Lacrosse Coaches
Association championship.
Griffith is pursuing a master's degree in psychology at Hood.
