Men's Soccer Registers First Win of 2007 over Valley Forge Christian College

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa.--The Hood College men's soccer team (1-2)
picked up its first win of the fall Wednesday by defeating Valley
Forge Christian College 4-1.
Senior Marcelino Rabara scored two goals and assisted on two
others to lead the Blazers to the nonconference triumph. Hood led
1-0 at halftime after senior Tom Noonan set up Rabara in the 28th
minute.
Rabara struck again in the 55th minute of the second half when he
cashed in on a penalty kick. Freshman Quinn Miller then tallied his
first collegiate goal 10 minutes later. Noonan and Rabara were
credited with assists on the score.
Noonan then capped the scoring late in the second half with his
24th career goal, which was assisted by Rabara and sophomore Corey
DeMaster.
Sophomore keeper Shawn Fernholz allowed just one second-half goal
and came up with three stops to earn his first win of the fall.
Hood makes its home debut Thursday, Sept. 13, hosting Mt. Aloysius
College at Thomas Athletic Field at 4:30 p.m.
