Top-Ranked York (Pa.) Downs Men's Soccer


YORK, Pa.--The top-ranked team in NCAA Division III, the York College (Pa.) Spartans (7-0, 1-0 CAC), defeated the Hood College men's soccer team (3-3, 0-1 CAC), 7-0, Monday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action.

Five different Spartans netted goals as York extended its unbeaten streak to 47. The Spartans outshot Hood 30-6 and led 4-0 at halftime.

Carlin Rabie was credited with half of Hood's shots on the afternoon, while Tom Noonan registered two shots and Marcelino Rabara had one.

Shawn Fernholz turned away 12 Spartan shots on the afternoon while three York keepers combined for the shutout.

Hood looks to get back on the winning track Wednesday hosting CAC foe Wesley College at 4 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field.
