LANCASTER, Pa.--Senior Quinn Miller converted a penalty kick for the Hood College men's soccer team (1-5) in a 2-1 setback to the Lancaster Bible College Chargers (6-2) Saturday afternoon in nonconference action.

Miller notched his first goal of the fall and eighth of his Hood career in the 76th minute.

LBC outshot the Blazers 12-4 in the first half, but Hood closed that gap to 7-6 in the second half. The Chargers got on the board on a goal by Kevin Geltner in the 13th minute. Cory Greiser found the back of the net in the 65th minute off Lawrence Lartey's second assist of the afternoon.

Senior Shawn Fernholz tallied six saves for Hood in defeat while Jake Kreider denied scoring chances by Corey DeMaster and Jacob Ausherman to earn the win.

Hood returns home Wednesday to host the University of Mary Washington in its Capital Athletic Conference opener at 4 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field.
