Men's soccer falls in back-and-forth battle at Stevenson

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Hood College men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 final at Stevenson in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action.

How it Happened

  • In the 11th minute, a long throw-in by Lewis was headed in by Shekanino for a 1-0 lead. 
  • James Rosa scored for the Mustangs in the 21st minute to tie the match. 
  • DR Medtart put Stevenson in front in the 62nd minute.
  • The lead only lasted four minutes, however. Shekanino sent a cross to the back post where Ellerson volleyed it in for the game-tying goal. 
  • Medtart struck again in the 76th minute for what proved to be the game-winner. 

Notes

  • Medtart had two goals, while Rosa had a goal and two assists. 
  • Matt Stellitano made eight saves.
