Blazer Men Wrap Up Regular Season at PSU-Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa.--The Hood College men's swim team (0-8) traveled to Penn State Altoona Saturday for its final dual meet of the season Saturday, falling 130-73 to the Nittany Lions.
The 200 medley relay squad of Jonathan Moughty, Andrew Bodine, Matthew Benoit and Chris Moreland started the meet off on a strong note, capturing first place with a seasonal best time of 1:47.83. Moreland's split in the anchor leg was 23.36, as the Blazers touched out the Altoona squad by 0.03 seconds.
Ethan Weidman won Hood's only individual race on the day, turning in a time of 13.57.45 to claim the 1000 free. He was also third in the 100 back (1:08.39).
Kyle Atras took second in the 1000 free (14:38.46) and third in the 100 fly (1:21.75).
Moughty was also third in the 50 free (24.93) and second in the 100 back (1:00.92).
Moreland was third in the 200 free (1:57.44) and second in the 100 free (53.52).
Bodine registered two runner-up finishes in the 200 individual medley (2:18.67) and the 500 free (5:57.13).
Benoit claimed second in the 100 breast (1:10.11) and the 100 fly (1:02.32).
Lucas Netter placed fifth in the 200 free (2:32.51) and fourth in the 500 free (7:11.13).
Thomas Williams came in fifth in both the 50 free (32.05) and the 100 breast (1:23.99) and sixth in the 100 free (1:13.58).
Carlin Rabie took fourth in both the 200 free (2:36.43) and 100 free (59.04).
The 200 free relay team of Weidman, Netter, Rabie and Atras closed the meet with a second-place finish in 1:52.28.
Hood has two weeks off to taper for the three-day Capital Athletic Conference championships, which begin Feb. 12 at St. Mary's College (Md.).
