Riedel Wins 1650 Free at The Diamond City Invitational

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Hood College men's swim team finished eighth out of 11 teams in the Diamond City Invitational.

How it Happened

  • Max Riedel, Matt Ball, Drew Wilson, and Gabriel Hernandez-Paese placed eighth in the men's 400-yard freestyle relay. Their time of 3:39.57 added 22 points to the team's score.
  • Riedel came out on top after his efforts in the men's 1650 yard freestyle. His first place time of 17:09.39 brought the Blazers 20 points.
  • Securing 11 points in the men's 200-yard butterfly was Ball. His time of 2:11.81 earned him an eighth place finish.
  • Hernandez-Paese finished 9th in the men's 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:27.62 which earned nine points.
  • Wilson added three points with his 14th place finish in the men's 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:36.10.


  • The University of Scranton remained at the top of the leader board through the third and final session with 802 points. The Blazers maintained their eighth place spot fininshing with 198 points..
