Ball, Riedel Impress on Last Day of MAC Championships

YORK, Pa. - Hood College's Max Riedel earned All-Middle Atlantic Conference honors and Matt Ball set a school record on the last day of the MAC Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center. 

How it Happened

  • Riedel swam a time of 16:33.12 in the 1650-yard freestyle to finish third overall. 
  • After swimming a time of 1:59.73 to set the school record in the preliminaries, Ball placed eighth during the finals of the 200-yard butterfly in 2:01.47. 
  • Gabriel Hernandez-Paese was 15th in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:20.66. 
  • The 400-yard freestyle relay of Drew Wilson, Ball, Riedel and Hernandez-Paese placed 11th with a time of 3:25.19. 


  • Hood placed 10th with 127 points. 
  • Albright came from behind to defeat Arcadia for the team title 615-550.5.



YORK, Pa. - Hood College's Matt Ball broke the school record in the 200-yard butterfly during the qualifying rounds of session six of the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center. 

How it Happened

  • Ball swam the fifth fastest time during the preliminaries for the 200-yard butterfly in 1:59.73. He shaved three seconds off his own school record in the event and will swim in the championship final Sunday evening.
  • Gabriel Hernandez-Paese qualified for the consolation final in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:18.82, which was 12th during qualifying. 


  • No points were awarded during session six.
