Riedel swims to All-MAC in the 1,650-yard freestyle

YORK, Pa. - Hood College's Max Riedel took third place in the 1,650-yard freestyle to earn All-Middle Atlantic Conference on the final day of the MAC Championships at the Graham Aquatics Center. 

How it Happened

  • Riedel, who placed third for the second straight year, swam a career-best 16:29.61. 
  • Matthew Ball finished seventh in the championship final of the 200-yard butterfly in 2:02.70. He swam a 2:01.86 in the preliminaries earlier in the day. 
  • The 400 freestyle relay of John Foley, Ball, Brooks Anderson and Riedel captured ninth place with its time of 3:26.82. 

Notes

  • Hood's 169 points were eighth in the final standings, ahead of Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham, Lebanon Valley and Stevenson. 
  • Albright scored 740 points for a nearly 200-point margin of victory over second-place Widener.

  • Ball was sixth during qualifying with a time of 2:01.86.

  • No team points were awarded during the session, which consisted of preliminary rounds.
