Ennis, Kinder Win Consolation Heats on Day Two of CAC Championships

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.--Freshman Robert Ennis and senior Jason Kinder won the consolation heats of their respective individual events on day two of the 2008 Capital Athletic Conference championships at St. Mary's College (Md.) Saturday.
Ennis won the consolation heat of the 100 breast and set a new school record with a time of 1:04:03, breaking the previous record of 1:04.93 by Eugene Alekseyev from October of 2006. Kinder won the consolation final in the 100 back with a time of 56.98, just 0.54 seconds away from lowering his own school record pace.
The 200 medley relay team of Kinder, Ennis, Matt Haynes and A.J. Smith finished seventh with a clocking of 1:51.40, and Haynes was seventh in the consolation final of the 200 free in 1:53.50.
Entering the final day of competition, the Blazers are in seventh place in the team standings with 106 points. The championship wraps up Sunday with trials at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
