Ames, Andrews Lower School Records at Battleground Relays
FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--Blair Ames and William Andrews of the Hood College men's track and field team both set school records at the Battleground Relays hosted by the University of Mary Washington.
Ames placed second in the 1500 meters in a record-setting time of 4:17.09 while Andrews was third in the steeple in 10:49.90.
Two Hood relay squads also excelled at the competition. The 4x200 relay team took third in a time of 1:36.31 and the 4x400 relay team came in fifth in 3:35.05 to set a new school record.
Brendan Greenlees ran within three seconds of the school record in the 5000 meters (17:07.40). Additionally, Robert Lindsay notched a personal best in the hammer (109' 10") to capture top honors in the event.
Hood next travels to Washington & Jefferson Saturday for an invitational at 11 a.m.
