Ames, Andrews, Komolafe Lower School Records at Paul Kaiser Classic

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.--Blair Ames, William Andrews and Ola Komolafe all bested school records Saturday at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg University.
A partial squad traveled to Shippensburg for the event to
compete against 18 schools, several of them prominent Pennsylvania
NCAA Division II programs.
Highlighting the men's events were William Andrews who won the
10,000 meters. In the process, he shaved nearly 90 seconds off his
previous best, running 35:56.03. He came from almost 200 meters
back at the half-way point, running the second half of his race 20
seconds faster than the first half.
Ola Komolafe erased the last remaining men's mark from the
club-era, running 11.33 in the finals of the men's 100 meter dash
to grab fourth. This replaced Mike Blackman's record of 11.43 set
on March 13, 2004, the year of the club's founding. Komolafe now
holds all three of the flat-track sprint records.
Blair Ames secured the final school record of the day, narrowing
his 1500 meter time to 4:12.29.
Personal bests were are also set by Tomilayo Komolafe (men's 100
meters) and Jamie Warrick (men's javelin). Additionally, the Hood
men's 4x100 placed 6th.
This was the final meet for seniors Steve Delaney and Ryan Jenkins.
"I owe each of these athletes a debt of gratitude for sticking with
what was a very thin program three years back," said head coach
Brent Ayer. "I practically begged Steve to come here to jumpstart
the cross country and distance programs. Ryan has been running
track since he was eight years old and brought a sense of
professionalism to our efforts."
