SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Hood College men's indoor track and field team took part in the SU Challenge hosted by Susquehanna University.
How it Happened
- AJ Lewis was eighth in the long jump with a mark of 20-10 1/2 (6.36 meters). The mark also puts him in the top 10 in the Middle Atlantic Conference in the event and was just 0.07 meters off of his school indoor record. Lewis was ninth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.09, a personal best indoors.
- Hunter Klein had a career-best in the weight throw of 31-10 (9.70m) to finish 29th. It moved him to third all-time at Hood. The junior threw the shot put a personal best 31-6 (9.60m).
- Fred Roberts pole vaulted 11-9 3/4 (3.60m) in his first action of the season in the event. That ranks third all-time at Hood and 10th in the MAC.
- "Today showed the progression we have made as all twelve of our athletes competing took another step forward with big performances at a big meet. Also, what was so impressive is the resilience we showed battling the weather all week to get some quality practices despite subpar practice conditions. With one more meet next week before the MAC Championships, we feel like we are in a great spot," Head Coach Chris Benassi.
Hood travels to the Larry Sharpe Invitational at Hagerstown Community College on February 10.
