Blazers Post Program's Fastest Combined Time at NCAA Mid-East Regional


BETHLEHEM, Pa.--The Hood College men's cross country team sent seven runners to the NCAA Mid-East Regional at Lehigh University Saturday and posted the program's fastest combined time (2:26:09) in five trips to the event.

Hood finished 37th out of 41 teams at the regional. Sophomore William Andrews paced the Blazers with a time of 27:46 to finish 134th, Hood's highest individual regional finish ever. His time also broke the program record for sophomores.

In his final race in the blue and gray, senior Faraz Shoai was the next Blazer to cross the tape in 28:14, a personal best clocking a new senior school record. Classmate Steve Delaney also ran the final race of his collegiate career in 29:37, his second-fastest time ever.

Freshman Corlin Blakey earned a time of 30:07 and sophomore Brendan Greenlees was close behind in 30:27. The brother tandem of Tomilayo and Ola Komolafe ran 31:54 and 32:47, respectively.

Haverford won the regional with a combined time of 2:05.22 and placed three runners in the top six.

Hood has concluded its cross country season for the fall.
