Blazer Men Finish Third at Hood Invitational

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College men's cross country team finished third at their own Hood Invitational on campus Saturday.

The junior trio of Blair Ames (17:37.48), William Andrews (17:40.15) and Brendan Greenlees (17:41.80) finished seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively and all within four seconds of one another. Nick Manning (17:47.31) and Mattia Mabellini (18:18.72) completed the Blazer scoring contingent.

The University of D.C.'s James Kichwen won the 5K race in 16:15.52. Penn State University-Altoona won the team competition by a single point over Southern Virginia University, 36-37.

Hood will now have one week to prepare for the 2008 Capital Athletic Conference championships hosted by the University of Mary Washington on Saturday, Nov. 1.
