Jamie Gardner Ranked Among NCAA Division III Pitching Leaders
FREDERICK, Md.--The first NCAA Division III softball statistical
rankings were released Wednesday and Hood College sophomore pitcher
Jamie Gardner was among the national leaders in three
categories.
The native of Eldersburg, Md., lists among the nation's top 100
hurlers in victories (7), strikeouts per seven innings (4.4) and
earned run average (2.68). A first team All-Atlantic Women's
Colleges Conference selection as a freshman, Gardner also leads the
AWCC in wins, ranks second in ERA and lists third in
strikeouts.
The Blazers are currently 7-11 overall and in second place in the
conference at 3-1. Hood has a pivotal weekend ahead, traveling to
league foes Chatham College (0-2 AWCC) Friday and Mary Baldwin
College (4-2 AWCC) Sunday.
