Softball Earns Team Academic Accolades from NFCA


FREDERICK, Md.--The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently released its 2006-07 All-Academic Teams and the Hood College softball team listed among the nation's best in cumulative team grade point average.

The Blazers amassed an impressive combined GPA of 3.248 to rank 46th among NCAA Division III schools, the highest of any school in the Capital Athletic Conference. Emerson College led all Division III institutions with a combined 3.548 team GPA. For a complete listing of the all-academic honorees, click here.

Hood is coming off back-to-back Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference titles and in the spring of 2008 will enter its inaugural season in the CAC, comprised of Gallaudet University, University of Mary Washington, defending champion Salisbury University, Villa Julie College, Wesley College and York College (Pa.).
