Salisbury Tops Hood Women in Regular Season Finale, 73-49

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's basketball team (5-19, 3-13 CAC) fell 73-49 to the visiting Salisbury University Sea Gulls (11-14, 8-8 CAC) Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School.
Allyson Lethbridge hit a pair of free throws with 4:02 to pull the Blazers within 19-17 but the Sea Gulls outscored Hood 14-4 to close the half and took a 33-21 lead into the lockerroom.
Salisbury maintained its double figure advantage throughout the second half as the Blazers got no closer than 14 the rest of the way.
Jen Willison notched her seventh double-double with 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Lethbridge paced the Blazers with 13 points and three steals while Jessica Parrish netted 11 points. Whitney Schultheis chipped in eight points and eight assists while Sara Wastler added seven.
The Blazers qualified for their first Capital Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 8 seed and will travel to top-seeded University of Mary Washington Tuesday for a 6 p.m. quarterfinal contest.
