Mary Washington Defeats Hood in CAC Tournament Quarterfinal, 84-34

FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--Freshman Allyson Lethbridge of the eighth-seeded Hood College women's basketball team (5-20) netted a team-high 13 points and buried three three-pointers in her first Capital Athletic Conference Tournament game against top-seeded University of Mary Washington (24-2).
Lethbridge got the Blazers on the board with a trey on Hood's second possession of the ballgame. But the Eagles reeled off the next 12 straight points and never lost their lead the rest of the way. UMW owned a 35-16 lead at halftime.
The Eagles were too much for Hood in the second half, connecting on 21-of-38 from the field, and limited the Blazers to just six field goals in the final 20 minutes.
Lethbridge hit 4-of-9 from the floor for 13 points while Whitney Schultheis chipped in 10 points. Liz Hickey paced the victors with 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting.
Mary Washington advances to the semifinal round and will host the No. 4-seed York College Spartans Thursday.
