Basketball Teams to Support Coaches Versus Cancer at York Doubleheader
YORK, Pa.--The men's and women's basketball coaching staffs at Hood College and York College (Pa.) will show their support for the Coaches vs. Cancer program at the Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday at York's Charles Wolf Gymnasium.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), in
conjunction with the American Cancer Society, is encouraging
coaches across the country to join the 2010 Coaches vs. Cancer
Suits and Sneakers awareness weekend January 29-31.
The NABC is asking member coaches and their staffs to wear
sneakers with their regular game suits at games held this weekend
to show support for the Coaches vs. Cancer program. Suits and
Sneakers will unite coaches from across the country in the common
effort to raise awareness for the fight to save lives from cancer.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the
American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball
Coaches that empowers basketball coaches, their teams and
communities to join the fight against cancer. Since the program's
inception in 1993, basketball coaches across the United States have
joined the team to support the Society's efforts to save lives and
create a world with more birthdays.
