Women's Lacrosse Tripped Up in Season Opener

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-7 final at Shenandoah.

How it Happened

  • Shenandoah scored the first six goals of the game, including two each by Cassie Arndt and Abby Zorrilla. 
  • Hood got on the scoreboard with 7:49 left in the first half on a free position by Slater and trailed 7-2 at halftime. 
  • The two teams essentially traded goals during the first 15 minutes of the second half before a 5-0 run by Shenandoah made it 17-6 with four minutes left in the game. 


  • Zorrilla scored four goals for the Hornets. 
  • Annie McCorry had three goals, three assists, seven ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers. 
  • Jacque Hemler finished with six caused turnovers. 
  • Maddie Albornoz made 11 saves.
