Women's Soccer Falls to St. Mary's, 4-0

Katherine Rendon

BOYDS, Md.--The Hood College women's soccer team (1-4, 1-2 CAC) fell 4-0 to the visiting St. Mary's College (Md.) Seahawks (3-0-1, 1-0 CAC) by a 4-0 margin Tuesday in a Capital Athletic Conference game at the Maryland SoccerPlex.

Seahawk forward Lauren Carrier provided all the offense for the visitors, scoring a hat trick in the first half and tacking on another tally in the second stanza. Two of Carrier's scores were unassisted while teammate Katrina Borden set up Carrier on the other two goals.

Sophomore Rachelle Buhrman played the first 73:20 in the net and made six saves while freshman Kirsten Cacciola patrolled the net for the final 16:40 and turned away four shots. Hood was outshot 21-3 on the day as Alexa Hubicki, Cara Jordan and Whitney Boyer connected on shot attempts for the Blazers.

The Blazers return to action Tuesday at Mt. Aloysius College for a 4:30 p.m. nonleague contest.
