Women's Soccer Enjoys Record-Setting Day Against Wilson

Whitney Boyer
FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's soccer team (4-4) set or tied three program records Thursday in an 11-0 victory over Wilson College (0-5) in nonconference action.
Hood's 11 goals eclipsed the previous record of 10 most recently set against Gallaudet University last fall. Junior Whitney Boyer tied the program's single-game record with four goals, matching the effort by former standout Laura Pitts from the 2004 season. Additionally, sophomore Cara Jordan tied a school record with three assists, a mark equaled by teammate Carlie Colella against Mt. Aloysius College back on Sept. 15.
Jessica Parrish netted a hat trick in the lop-sided victory, tallying a pair of goals in a two-minute span in the first half and rounded out the scoring with her third tally in the 63rd minute.
Nikki Antalffy tallied four points on a goal and two assists while Alexa Hubicki notched a pair of assists. Katherine Rendon, Jessica Devine and Carlie Colella also found the back of the net for the Blazers, who outshot the Phoenix 40-0.
The Blazers, winners of three in a row and four of their last five, registered their third straight shutout and evened their record at 4-4. Hood looks to continue its hot streak Saturday against Capital Athletic Conference rival Marymount University at Washington & Lee High School at 5:30 p.m.
