WINCHESTER, Va.--The Hood College women's soccer team (6-4-1) ran its unbeaten streak to six with a 2-0 blanking of the Shenandoah University Hornets (5-6-1) Wednesday evening in nonconference action.
Freshman Jessica Devine got the Blazers on the board in the 18th minute when she netted her seventh goal of the season. Devine has now netted at least one goal in Hood's last six games in a row.
Classmate Carlie Colella put one past Hornet keeper Kat Terza in the 38th minute off an assist from Cara Jordan to put the Blazers up 2-0.
The two teams combined for just 11 shots overall and Rachelle Buhrman rejected all three Hornet shots on goal for her third shutout of the season.
The Blazers return to action Saturday at Washington College for a noon contest.
