Jennifer Fischer Becomes First Women's Soccer Player Tabbed All-CAC

Jennifer Fischer
FREDERICK, Md.--Freshman defender Jennifer Fischer of the Hood College women's soccer team became the first Blazer soccer player named to a Capital Athletic Conference all-star team with her selection to the 2008 all-league second team.
A starter in all 20 games, Fischer was instrumental in Hood's school-record 10 shutouts this fall. The native of Montgomery Village, Md., and product of Gaithersburg High School was often called upon to mark the opponent's top striker, using her speed and athleticism to thwart scoring chances by opposing forwards.
The Blazers finished the 2008 campaign with a 10-8-2 overall record and became the first women's program at Hood to win a CAC playoff game. Hood, the sixth seed in the tournament, upset third-seeded Stevenson University 3-1 on penalty kicks in the quarterfinals.
Fischer was Hood's lone representative on the women's soccer all-league teams, which can be viewed by clicking here.
