Seahawks Blank Blazer Women, 4-0

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.--The St. Mary's College (Md.) Seahawks (2-1, 1-0 CAC) scored a pair of goals in each half en route to a 4-0 Capital Athletic Conference win over the Hood College women's soccer team (2-2, 1-2 CAC) Wednesday afternoon.
Hood, which suffered its first shutout of the season, was outshot 26-3 on the day. Abby Dyjack and Jen Fischer notched Hood's two shots on net but were denied by the Seahawk tandem of Lacey Johnson and Grace Koplow.
SMCM's Bridget McGovern started the scoring with her first goal of the season in the 12th minute. Liza Sitz scored consecutive unassisted goals to stretch the margin to 3-0 with 37:58 left in regulation and Kim LaBarge tacked on St. Mary's fourth score of the afternoon in the final three minutes of the match.
Rachelle Buhrman played 66:05 in net and turned away eight Seahawk shots and surrendered three goals while Kirsten Cacciola played the final 23:55, allowing one goal and making one save.
Hood returns home Saturday to host Purchase College in a nonleague tilt at 3:30 p.m.
