Blazer Women Cruise to 7-0 Win Over Lancaster Bible
LANCASTER, Pa.--The Hood College women's soccer team (8-6-1) ended a four-game slide with a 7-0 nonconference victory over the Lancaster Bible College Chargers (2-12-2) Tuesday afternoon.
Junior Cara Jordan had a hand in Hood's first two goals of the game. Jordan set up teammate Casey Miller in the 16th minute and then netted an unassisted score in the 26th minute to give the Blazers the early lead. Hood added two more unassisted scores in the first half by the freshman duo of Amanda Hutzell and Becky Leathers to take a 4-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Miller and Jordan both connected on penalty kick chances 3:50 apart. Freshman Jen Civick posted her fourth goal of the season in the 87th minute to round out the scoring.
Keepers Kirsten Cacciola and Rachelle Buhrman combined for the shutout as the Blazers outshot the Chargers 26-3. Kirsten Shoemaker turned away 12 Blazer shot attempts in defeat for LBC.
Hood wraps up the regular season Tuesday hosting the University of Mary Washington in a Capital Athletic Conference tilt at 3:30 p.m.
