Botten's late goal lifts women's soccer past Alvernia

READING, Pa. - A goal in the 88th minute by Elisa Botten gave the Hood College women's soccer team a 2-1 win at Alvernia in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

How it Happened

  • Alvernia took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute when Hood scored an own goal. 
  • Weaver leveled the score six minutes later. The sophomore bent a corner kick into the far, top corner of the net for her first career goal. 
  • The two teams appeared headed for overtime before Painter, a Reading native, found Botten in front of the net and the senior scored her third goal of the season. 

Notes

  • The two teams combined for just four shots on goal in the contest.
