Hood Concludes Season with Seventh Place Finish at CAC Championships

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md.--The Hood College women's swim team placed seventh in the team competition of the 2009 Capital Athletic Conference championships at the ARC Aquatics Center on the campus of St. Mary's College (Md.).
In preliminary action, Ashley Garyn took 24th in the 100 free, touching the wall in 1:00.57, 0.03 faster than her season-best.
Erica Hamor earned a spot in the consolation heat of the 200 breast with a clocking of 2:44.93, improving her season-best by more than eight seconds. She was fifth in the consolation heat (13th overall) and lowered her time by 0.31 seconds, finishing in 2:44.62. Kara Cruice shaved over five seconds off her 200 breast time, finishing in 3:00.45 in the preliminary round.
Melissa Masino came in 19th in the 1650 free, logging a time of 23:39.75.
The 400 free relay squad of Garyn, Cruice, Masino and Hamor placed seventh in 4:10.90.
